INFANT STRUCK BY FATHER'S CAR, KILLED

CLIFTON - Donald Lee Boudreau Jr., 15 month old son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Boudreau, Clifton, died at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at Riverside Hospital from injuries received when he was struck by a car driven by his father in the driveway of his grandparents home.

State Trooper W. D. James reported the child was in the driveway as a car driven by his father was backing out. The accident occurred at approximately 1:30 p.m. His death becomes the 11th Kankakee County fatality this year.

He was born March 31, 1970 in Kankakee. His mother was the former Judy Wren. In addition to his parents, he is survived by grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Boudreau of Clifton and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Wren of Chebanse; great grandparents, Mr. and Mrs Verne Harling of Clifton; great grandfather, Eugene Boudreau of Bourbonnais; and great grandmother, Mrs. Esther Wren of Chebanse.

The boy had been baptized in the United Church of Christ, Chebanse. The Rev. George Backer, pastor of the church, will conduct funeral services at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Knapp Funeral Home, Clifton, where there will be visitation after 7 p.m. today. Burial will be in Clifton Cemetery.

TRAGEDY HITS CLIFTON FAMILY

Tragedy struck a Clifton family Thursday afternoon, July 1st in the death of a 15 month old son. Donald L. Boudreau, Jr., died at 3:30 p.m. that day at Riverside Hospital where he was admitted at 2:05 p.m.

The baby was rushed to the hospital by his father after the infant was struck by the family car as his father was backing away on the driveway. The child had been playing in the yard with other children and wandered away from them. The accident occurred at the home of Mrs. Boudreau's parents in Chebanse.

Iroquois County Coroner Wayne D. Knapp of Watseka said the death of the baby was recorded as the 11th traffic fatality in Iroquois County this year.

The baby was born March 31, 1970 in Kankakee, son of Donald Leo and Judy Wren Boudreau. Surviving are the parents; the grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Boudreau of Clifton and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Wren of Chebanse; great grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Verne Harling of Clifton; great grandfather, Eugene Boudreau of Bourbonnais, and great grandmother, Mrs. Esther Wren of Chebanse.

The child was baptized into the United Church of Christ at Chebanse.

Services were Saturday, July 3, at 2 p.m. at the Knapp Funeral Home in Clifton, the Rev. George Backer officiating and burial was in Clifton Cemetery. Visitation was from 7 p.m. Friday and until the hour of the rites at the funeral home.
