Mrs. VanNote was born at Fall River, Massachusetts, August 28, 1873, and was graduated from Smith college in 1895. She taught in a private school at Red Bank for a year and afterward taught Greek, Latin and history at Atlantic Highlands. Following this she took post graduate work at Columbia university.

Mr. and Mrs. VanNote were married in 1902. Besides her husband, who is secretary of the Atlantic Highlands building and loan association, she Is survived by a son, William G. VanNote, professor of chemical engineering in the North Carolina State college.
