Joan S. Spicer, age 65 of Coleman, passed away Thursday, October 7, 2004 at her home in Coleman. Joan was born the daughter of Otto and Mildred M. (Mcready) Burton on May 24, 1939 in Flint, Michigan. Joan married John Spicer in 1965, and he passed away in 1983. She then married William Spicer in 1985, and he also predeceased her in 2003.
Joan had lived in Coleman most of her life, she enjoyed going to the Casino, and watching Poker on the television.
Joan is survived by her children John Spicer of Clare and Sharon Spicer (Tim Weldon) of Coleman; a step son, Bob Barber of Lapeer; two grandchildren, Logan Spicer of Clare and Joshua Hilliard of Coleman; siblings, Sharon (Dick) VanSicklen of Coleman, Jim (Shirley) Burton of Farwell, Sandi Wells (Dan Spicer) of Coleman, Francis (Pam) Rease of Midland; sister-in-law Bonnie Burton of Clare. Joan was also survived by numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Joan was predeceased by her parents, and a brother Tom Burton.
Services will take place on Monday, October 11, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. at the Coleman Community of Christ Church 407 East Adams Street, Coleman, Michigan 48618 with Frank Methner officiating. Burial will be in the Warren Twp. Cemetery in Coleman. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association.
Arrangements were handled by the Stephenson-Wyman Funeral Home, Inc. of Clare.
