William (Bill) Spicer, of Coleman, passed away on April 4, 2003. Bill was born the son of Floyd and Myrtle (Wahl) Spicer on March 20, 1924 in Clare County.
He leaves behind to mourn his passing, his wife, Jo and step-children, John and Sharon of Coleman; stepson Bob Barber of Lapeer; grandchildren Mike, Tim, Cindy and Steve; twelve great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; four brothers: Bob (Betty) Spicer of Clio, Don (Shirley) Spicer of Harrison, Jerry (Bobby) Spicer of Flint and Larry (Rita) Spicer of Texas; five sisters: Dorothy (Elmer) Gingery of Clare, Doris (Ed) Zuker of Beal City, Susie (Gary) Bole of Ohio, Jan (Ed) Tomaski of Clare and Jeanie (Larry) Bole of Farwell; and two sisters-in-law, Joyce Spicer of Coleman and Patty Spicer of New Mexico.
Bill was preceded in death by his first wife Mildred (Barber) Spicer, his parents and three brothers John, Ray and Ed.
Bill served in World War II as a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army and was very active in VFW Post 1071 of Coleman. He loved his Lord, his family and making beautiful music. He will be sorely missed.
Following cremation, a military memorial service was held at the Community of Christ Church in Coleman on April 8, 2003. Officiating were Elder Rodney Colmus and Priest Frank Methner. A luncheon followed the service at the Coleman VFW.
