Aaron C. Baer of Goshen, Indiana, enlisted as a Sergeant 11 Aug 1862 in Co. I, 74th Indiana Infantry. He was promoted to a Full Quarter Master Sergeant and mustered out 9 June 1865 at Washington D. C.

Aaron C. Baer & Georgianna were listed on the 1870 St. Joseph County, Michigan census with Ada, age 1. They were in the town of Burlington in Coffey County, Kansas, by 1875. Aaron was listed as age 38, a merchant, born in Ohio, and the family came to Kansas from Michigan. Georgianna Baer was age 30, born in New York. Their children in 1875 were Ada, 6, and Katie L., 4; both born in Michigan. Clifford Jay, age 2; & Jessie, a girl, age 5 months, were both born in Kansas.

Georgianna Baer was listed as a widow on the 1880 Burlington (town of) Coffey County, Kansas, census. Ada, Katie, Clifford, & Jessie were also listed with her.

Georgianna Baer, widow of Quarter Master Sergeant Aaron C. Baer of the 74th Indiana Infantry, received a Civil War widow's pension 7 March 1879. She was listed on a surviving veterans & widows schedule in Toledo, Lucas County, Ohio, in 1890. Her husband's enlistment & muster out dates, as well as his rank and regiment are clearly listed.

Georgianna Baer was listed with her daughter, Laura K. Drury in Toldeo in 1910 & 1920. She was listed as age 75 in 1920.

Family information lists Georgianna's maiden name as Smith. Aaron Creighton Baer is listed as a son of Manasseh & Sarah Baer of Elkhart County, Indiana.

Aaron C. Baer, of Co. I, 74th Indiana Infantry, is listed in a 1962 survey of veterans buried in Coffey County, Kansas, in this cemetery. His death date is listed and his age-at-death is listed as 40 years, 5 months, & 7 days.
