She was raised in a Christian home. She joined and was baptized at Hills Chapel Baptist Church in Huntsville, Texas. She completed her formal education at Sam Houston High School in Huntsville, Texas. When moved to Houston in 1943, she joined Jordan Grove Baptist Church under Rev. Banks. Then when Christian Faith Baptist Church was organized by Rev. Banks, she became a member of the Usher Board and Love Boat, and remained a member until death.
On November 20, 1948, Nancy Scott and W.J. Wilson (who proceeded her in death) joined together in holy matrimony. In this unity, they were blessed with three beautiful daughters: Shirley, Betty Jo (who proceeded her in death) and Audrey Kay.
Throughout these years, Mrs. Nancy Wilson has been a productive wife, mother, and grandmother. She worked with her husband in their business: Wilson Vending Service as Office Manager.
It was a day of sadness on July 21, 2000, when the spirit of Nancy Wilson departed her mortal body and she entered into a quiet sleep of death.
It is now a day of waiting until the resurrection reunion for two devoted daughters and their husbands: Shirley and Rev. Paul Joseph and Audrey and Larry Godfrey; six grandchildren, Amiir, Tianna, Brandy, Omar, Demithius, and Nancy Shavonne; eight great-grandchildren, Amanda, Diamond, Jamiir, Javone, LaKayla, Jamore, Jamal, and Omar, Jr.; two sisters, Thelma Ware and Doris Greene, both of Houston, Texas; and one brother, Vernon Scott of Dallas, Texas; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
