Mrs. Grist was born in Larkinsburg, Kan., on November 8, 1910. She attended school at Lawrence, Kan., and worked for the telephone company in Lawrence. Mrs. Grist was a member of the Blue Ridge Boulevard United Methodist Church since 1952. Mrs. Grist was preceded in death by her husband, Paul J. Grist, and a brother, Elbert Alderman.
Her survivors include her five daughters, Margaret Ann Coulter of Marissa, Ill., Betty Jean Johnson of Oxnard, Calif., Anita Marie Ganser of Mesa, Ariz., Eileen F. Schreiber of Overbrook, Kan., and Donna L. Nally of Kansas City, Mo.; 14 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the D.W. Newcomer's Sons Floral Hills Chapel, Kansas City, (816) 353-1218. Burial will be in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Kansas City. Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at the chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest contributions to the Blue Ridge Boulevard United Methodist Church.
