Ackerman, Jay, age 57, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2013 while living in Moorhead.
He graduated from Robbinsdale High School in 1974 and attended University Minnesota-Mankato.
Jay was a gentle quiet soul who showed kindness and respect to everyone he encountered. He was always a true gentleman right up to his last breath.
He is survived by parents, Robert and Lois Ackerman of Brooklyn Park; siblings, Sue (Jeff) Bracker, Carol (Chuck) Bohanon, Edye Ackerman-Lee; nieces and nephews, Mike Bracker, Michelle (Brett) Medin, Heather Bohanon, Alysha Bohanon, Sam Bohanon, Tony Ackerman-Lee, Samantha Ackerman-Lee; great nephews, Cason and Landon Medin.
Private family service will be held by First Memorial Funeral Chapel and private interment will take place in Fargo by Boulger Funeral Home.
