"Enlisted in Iowa Falls, Iowa, December 28, 1863, in Civil War, in Co. F 2nd Iowa Cavalry, 23 years old. His regiment was on a raid in Tennessee when he was stricken with measles, was sent back to Gayoss hospital in Memphis where he suffered many weeks, was finally given a furlough to his mothers home in Iowa Falls, where he died July 16, 1864. Seth was buried with military honors."
