Marvin "Barefoot" Comer, Sr., 72, of Rt. 1, Haysi, Va., died Wednesday, September 28, 1988, in Wise Regional Hospital.
He was a miner for 44 years before his retirement.
Survivors include his wife, Clista Comer; one son, Bob Comer, Haysi, Va.; one sister, Catherine Hornberger, Edgewood, Md.; two grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services were conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 1, 1988, at the Haysi Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Billy Darrell Willis officiating. Burial was in Greenhills Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers were Danny Hill, Dwayne Owens, Roger Hill, Oliver Boggs, Avery Boyd and Larry Sheppard.
