Graveside Service: Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at 2:00PM at Hillcrest Cemetery in Mountain Grove.

Burial: Hillcrest Cemetery.

Obituary:

Catherine Ruth Brumley, daughter of the late Fredrick Conley and Etta Lee (Ledbetter) Byrd, was born on December 2, 1918 in Dennison, Texas, and departed this life on August 6, 2013 in Willow Care Nursing Home in Willow Springs, Missouri, at 94 years of age.

Catherine grew up and attended school in Quanah, Texas. She was united in marriage to Raymond W. Brumley on October 12, 1935 in Altus, Oklahoma. Two children were born to this union. They made their home in California for several years, and while living there, Catherine was employed in a hospital for a few years.

Catherine and Raymond were married for seventy-two years. Mr. Brumley passed away on December 8, 2007.

Catherine was a true homemaker who enjoyed taking care of her family. She liked to sew, do needlework and crafts of all kinds. Her passion in life was working with the churches they attended in California and Missouri.

At the time of her passing, she was a member of the Almost Home Ministries Church in Mtn. Grove. She truly loved the people and enjoyed the services as long as her health permitted.

Catherine was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and friend. She will be truly missed by those who knew and loved her.

Besides her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by one brother: Harold Byrd; and by one sister: Delma Hogue.

She is survived by her son: Lindell Brumley and his wife, Carola; her daughter: Ramona Ruth Holbrook and her husband, Robert, all of Mtn. Grove; four grandchildren: Linda Johnson, Lori Pierce and her husband, Tim, Jeff Holbrook and his wife, Lupe, and Bruce Holbrook and his wife, Linda; five great-grandchildren: Meghan, Molly, Richard, Kevin and Christopher; three great-great-grandchildren: Stephen, Justin and Ava; and many other relatives and friends.
