Dead At Home
Alva C. Hufford, 64, well known Jefferson township farmer, re-
siding west of the Pisgah church, was found dead at his home
Sunday by his son, Paul, who had gone to the farm for a visit.
Mr. Hufford, who lived alone, apparently had been dead since
Tuesday, death being caused by heart trouble, according to Coroner M. B Stewart, who was called
Paul Hufford, the son, who is manager of the Standard Auto
Parts company here, had gone to the farm about 1:8O p. m. where he made the gruesome discovery.
Besides the son, Paul, another son, Fred, of Los Angeles and
a sister, Mrrs. Josephine Ashcraft, survive.
Funeral will be held from Chase chapel Monday at 1:30 p. in.,
Rev. W. E. Carroll, officiating. Burial in Davis cemetery at Burnettsville.
The body of the elder Hufford was found in the barn lying on
a small pile of hay where he had apparently dropped, down to rest as he felt the heart attack coming on. A theory that Hufford might have fallen from the haymow was broken when an examination revealed no broken bones.
