Civil War Veteran. Enlisted and mustered on March 1, 1865, into Company I, 18th Regiment, New Hampshire Infantry (Union). Enlistment Rank: Private.

The regiment moved to South Side Railroad and duty at Ford's Station till April 20. Moved to Washington, D. C., April 20-26, 1865. Camp at Alexandria and Provost duty at Georgetown till July. Guard duty in Washington during trial of President Lincoln's assassins. Mustered out on July 25, 1865.

Filed for Invalid Pension on December 9, 1891 (Application No. 1,076,575 and Certificate No. 990,123).

He was aged 98 years 5 mos 12 days at death. He was the last living member of Department of New Hampshire G.A.R., Commander of Dept. and Commander of Post #4 G.A.R. Also member of N.H. SV Camp #10.
