John A. Vander WIlt,69, of 722 Glenwood in Ottumwa died at 4:25 a.m. Feb. 19 in Ottumwa Hospital.
He was born April 26, 1913, in Mahaska County near Given to Dirk and Barbara Groenenboom Vander Wilt. A retired Ottumwa Oil Co. agent, he was an elder at Faith Community Church at Eddyville. He married Wilma Hulsbos Feb. 10, 1940, in Wapello County.
Survivors:his wife; sons Carl of Winnetka, Ill. and Dr. David of Palo Alto, Calif.; a daughter, Marilyn Rynbrandt of Holland, Mich.; five grandchildren; two brothers, Bert of Eddyville and Dick of Pella; and five sisters, Jennie Den Hartog of Eddyville, Nellie Visscher of Oskaloosa, Corlena Van Zante of Ottumwa, Henrietta Bouma of Des Moines and Barbara Dieleman of Pella.
Service: 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Faith Community Church in Eddyville the Revs. William Peake of Buffalo Center. Dr. Calvin Rynbrant of Holland, Mich., and Henry Franken of Pella officiating. Burial: Memorial Lawn Cemtery.
Pallbearers: Anton Knoot, John Sanders, Gene Van De Kieft, Tunis Aalsburg, Daryl Vander Wilt and Michael Kuhn.
The casket will remain at Johnson Funeral Home until 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, when it will be taken to the church and closed as the service begins.
