Thelbert C. Atkinson, 82, died July 30, 1990, in the American Fork Hospital.
Born October 27, 1909 (*headstone 1907*), in Kamas, Utah, to Thomas A. and Nora Pace Atkinson. He married Mercelle Farr July 2, 1937, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Member, LDS Church, living in the Grove Ward, Pleasant Grove Stake. He had served in the presidency of the Elder's Quorum and Sunday School. He graduated from Chicago Technical College. He worked in the Park City Mines from 1936 to 1944. He was later employed at Geneva Steel, retiring in 1969.Survived by: His wife, Pleasant Grove; two sons and a daughter, Arlen Thelbert Atkinson, St. Louis, Missouri; Dr. Duane Farr Atkinson and Jana VanBrakel, both Pleasant Grove; 22 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a brother and a sister, Adrian Atkinson and Bernice Wadley, both Pleasant Grove.
Services will be Monday, 11 a.m., at the Pleasant Grove Stake Center, 275 East 500 So. Friends may call Sunday, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Olpin Family Mortuary, 500 So. 300 East, Pleasant Grove, or Monday, at the church, one hour prior to services. Burial in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery.
