Mr. Ed B. Baird, Age 95, of Lebanon passed away Friday, August 2, 2013, at the Pavillion.

Born March 3, 1918, in Wilson County, he is the son of the late Walter J. and Ethel Bouton Baird. He was a lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church where he had served as a deacon and elder, the Lebanon Golf & Country Club, and was an Army veteran of World War II. He was an active member of the community having owned a hardware business, involved in real estate development, and worked as an appraiser and served on the Board of First Federal Savings and Loan.

He was preceded in death by his wife of sixty three years, Sara Howell Baird on April 19, 2010.

He is survived by two sons, Walter (Kathy) Baird of Nashville and Ed (Holli) Baird of Brentwood; four grandchildren, Sarah (Chris) Morris of Franklin; Stuart Baird of Brentwood; Taylor Baird of Atlanta, GA, and Emily Baird of Atlanta, GA; great grandson, Connor Preston Morris.

His remains rest at the Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home, 241 West Main Street, Lebanon, where the family will receive friends Tuesday 3-7 PM. Graveside service 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, August 7, 2013, at Cedar Grove Cemetery with Rev. Sherard Edington officiating.

Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice or to the First Presbyterian Church, 304 West Main Street, Lebanon,TN 37087.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to his caregiver, Gaynell Dover and also to the staffs of Hearthside, The Pavillion, and Gentiva Hospice.
