Myrtle Casteel Smith, 87, of Etowah passed away on Saturday August 3, 2013 at McMinn Memorial Nursing Home. She was a mamber of Conasauga Baptist Church. A daughter of the late William and Ethel Philpot.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband: Joseph "Dan" Casteel, Daughter: Linda Sue Derrick, and several brothers and sisters.
Survivors include husband: Charlie Smith of Etowah; daughter and son-in-law: Joyce "Casteel" and Terry Brock of Cleveland; step-son: Charles Smith Jr.; step-daughter and step son-in-law: Joan and Jim Kirkland; grandchildren: Sharon Pahel and Nikki Garza, of Englewood; Connie Watson of Madisonville, Tyler and Shelby Brock of Cleveland; James Charles and Allison Kirkland, Melissa and Brett Shore; great-grandchildren: Austin and Christopher Pahel, Carlos, Matthew, Brittany, Porfiria Rico and Linda Garza; Ethan Watson, Jonathan and David Samples; Jamie and Aubrey Shore, Conner, Zyan and Campbell Kirkland; great-great grandchild: Braden Samples.
Funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Monday, August 5, 2013 in the South Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with Rev. Ronnie Best officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. prior to the service. Family and friends will assemble at Conasauga Baptist Church Cemetery on Tuesday, August 6, 2013 for the 11:00 a.m. committal service.
