Elias left the family and moved to West Virginia. There is no proof he divorced Ada. The children were put in the Ohio Children's Home about 1928 and stayed there several years.
When he died Ada received his death certificate. He had many alias': Francis William Burns, William Francis Burns and Joe W. Bryne.
He died in Ohio Valley hospital in Wheeling, W.V. of carsinoma of the stomach.
