Margaret Lucas, 98, Harvey died Friday, August 2, 2013 at the St. Aloisius Nursing Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 6 at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Harvey, ND.

Burial will be in the Sunnyside Cemetery, Harvey, ND.

Visitation will be Monday 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey, ND.

Rosary services will be held at 7 p.m. Monday also at the funeral home.

Margaret Barbara Leintz was born on May 28, 1915 at Esmond, ND. She was the daughter of Nicholas and Magdalena (Leier) Leintz. Margaret grew up in the Lincoln Valley area south of Anamoose and near Harvey. She attended rural school. As a young woman she worked at A.J. Goetz's General Store in Lincoln Valley. Margaret married Edwin Jacob Lucas on May 27, 1939 in Harvey, ND. They lived in Harvey. Margaret was called upon often to make and decorate cakes. Edwin died on December 19, 1990. She continued to live in Harvey and had just entered the St. Aloisius Nursing Home days before her passing.

Margaret was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters in America and Catholic Society of Foresters. She was also a member of the St. Aloisius Hospital Auxiliary, VFW Auxiliary and Wells Eagles Auxiliary in Harvey.

Margaret is survived by a daughter, Kathleen (Donald) Brandt of Lodi, CA; four sons, Gerald (Judy) of Mulvane, Kansas, Tom (JoAnn) Lucas of Rolette, ND, Roger Lucas of Charlotte, North Carolina and Steve (Renee) Lucas of Eden Prairie, MN; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brother, Henry (Leota) Leintz of Fargo, ND.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, David.
