Byron was killed in a saw mill accident at the age of 22, he was dragged under the saw and both legs were severed and his arm was torn off above the elbow. Even though he was in shock he never lost consciousness, he died from his injuries a few minutes after placed on the operating table at the hospital.
He was survived by a Father, five brothers, Dayton, Scott, Evers, Glenn and Lee, and also two sisters, Goldie and Olie.
