Elizabeth H. Mathis, 82, of Indianapolis, passed away July 29, 2013. She was born January 4, 1931 to the late Harley Hensley and Irma Pritchard Allen. A lifelong resident of Indianapolis,

Elizabeth married Cecil E. Mathis, and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Elizabeth was a 50 year member of O.E.S. Chapter #481, where she was a past Worthy Matron, Order of the Aramanth, where she was a past Royal Matron and Grand Royal Matron, Daughters of the Nile, where she was a past Queen, and the White Shrine. She was a longtime member of Irvington Presbyterian Church.

Elizabeth is survived by her sons, Steve M., Larry D. (Sheryl), John R., Charles W. (Tracy) and Joseph E. (Judith) Mathis; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Robert Hensley; and nephew, David (Amy) Hensley.

Elizabeth's husband, Cecil Mathis, preceded her in death.
