MCINTIRE, Iowa -- The funeral for Ricky Lee Ring will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Riceville, Iowa, with the Rev. Michael Parris officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery in rural Riceville.
Mr. Ring, 46, of McIntire, Iowa, died of cancer Sunday (July 31, 2005) at Rochester Methodist Hospital.
Born Nov. 5, 1958, in Osage, Iowa, he graduated from Riceville High School in 1977, then attended Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge, Iowa. On July 4, 1987, he married Nancy Duryee at St. Peter's Lutheran Church. They lived in Florida until 1990, then returned to McIntire. Prior to his illness, he worked at ACT in Northwood, Iowa, as a tool and die maker for nine years, and enjoyed riding motorcycles and restoring his truck.
Survivors include his wife; three children, Chelsey, Mikayla and Dawson, all at home; his parents, Wilford and Ilene of McIntire; one sister, Deanne (Raymond) Fjetland of Racine; and three brothers, David (Katie) and Robby (Amy), both of Osage, and Daniel (Michele) of Elma, Iowa. He was preceded in death by one brother and his grandparents.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Lindstrom Funeral Home in Riceville, and an hour before the service Wednesday at the church.
