Funeral services will be held at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Riceville, on Friday, June 8 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Tom Wegener officiating.
Burial will be in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery in Riceville. Friends may call at the Lindstrom Funeral Home in Riceville during the hours of 4-7 p.m. on Thursday and one hour before services at the church.
Ilene Ann (Roe) Ring was born on April 19, 1938, the daughter of Theodore and Inez (Iverson) Roe, in rural Mitchell County. Ilene was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She attended country school for two years then moved to McIntire and graduated in 1956. She worked in the Snack Shop in Osage while in high school. After graduation Ilene moved to Mason City. On May 3, 1958, she was united in marriage to Wilford Ring. They farmed together for 50-plus years. Ilene worked for Comprehensive Systems for 10 years.
Ilene enjoyed spending time with family and the many vacations they spent together. She attended all of the school activities of her children and grandchildren. Ilene enjoyed traveling the countryside with her husband.
She enjoyed reading and rummage sales. She also enjoyed an occasional trip to the casino. Ilene was always happy when family came to enjoy a meal together.
Survivors include her husband, Wilford Ring of McIntire; one daughter, Deanna (Raymond) Fjetland of Racine, Minn.; three sons, David of McIntire, Daniel (Michele) of Elma and Robby (Amy) of Osage; one daughter-in-law, Nancy Ring of Ormond Beach, Fla.; 14 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Darlene Betts of Mason City; and a brother, Wendell Roe of Mason City.
Ilene was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Russell and Ricky; twin great-grandchildren, Carson and Carter Fjetland; sister-in-law, Mary Lou Roe; brother-in-laws, Gene Betts and Earl Ring; and sister and brother-in-law, Esther and Dick Gilbert.
