Agnes Slay Riley, 72, wife of the late Alex Riley, 731 Evergreen Street, died early Sunday morning at a local hospital following an illness of several weeks.

She was a native of Clarke county and had been a resident of Jackson since 1939.

Mrs Riley was a member of the Van Winkle Baptist Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs W O Mauldin, Waynesboro, and Mrs J B Butler, Jackson; two sons, I G Riley and Z G Riley, both of Jackson; two brothers, Frank Slay, Clark county, Grady Slay, Lubbock, Texas; three sisters, Mrs Henry McDonald, Sallisaw, Okla, Mrs Bevin Harrison, Pritchard, Ala, and Mrs Edgar Grayson, Clark county; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held at ten o'clock Tuesday morning from the Van Winkle Baptist Church conducted by Rev Herman Milner, Rev Kermit Canterbury, and Rev Deb Stennis, with interment in Lakewood Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be her nephews.

Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
