He had attended Boiling Springs High School, was a Baptist, and was employed as a carpenter with Autorino Construction.
He is survived by his parents; his wife, Jennifer (Brown) Gilbert; a brother, Phillip Gilbert of Inman; and a sister, Alison Gilbert of the home.
He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Leroy and Margaret Gilbert; and his maternal grandmother, Lydia Fisher.
The body was placed in the home of his parents after 5:00 p.m. on Monday, August 1, 2005.
Funeral services were held at 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 2, 2005 at Mt. Zion Independent Freewill Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Calvin Nesbitt and Rev. Beryl Wyatt. Burial was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
