Obituary From The Ottumwa Courier, October 1, 1996:
Cecil L. Leedom, 91, formerly of 102 E. Finley, died at 5:15 p.m. Sept. 29, 1996, at Ridgewood Care Center.
She was born May 11, 1905, in Davis County to Albert and Janie Andrews Casteel. She married Dee Leedom on July 3, 1923. He died April 18, 1982.
She was a member of First Baptist Church and a 50-year member of Ottumwa Chapter No. 112 Order of Easter Star.
She is survived by three brothers, John Casteel of Ottumwa, Thurman Casteel of Sun City, Ariz., and Aubrey Casteel of Bloomfield; and a sister, Averil Small of Waterloo.
She was preceded in death by four sisters, Doris Leedom, Ivalee Melvin, Erma Spiker, and infant sister, Adelia.
The service will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Reece Funeral Home, the Rev. Rex Wilson of First Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. today with the family present from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Jim Gibler, Donald Bramschreiber, Dean Giltner, Thurston Metcalf, Walter LaPoint and Jim Gibler Jr.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church.
