Andreas (Andrew) Florin was born on December 19, 1832 in Serneus, Canton Grisons, Switzerland. He came to the United States in 1854 settling first in La Crosse, Wisconsin, and in 1858 he relocated to Danuser's Valley in Buffalo County. His marriage to Susanna Schamann was one of the first to take place in Town of Montana on May 2, 1859. His farm and his family expanded through the years. Andrew and Susan had nine children: Joseph, Peter, Margareth, Mary, Ursula, Louisa, John, Caroline and Anna. Andrew took the oath of citizenship on September 17, 1885. Andrew passed away in December 1902. Burial took place in the Montana Methodist Cemetery.
