Marie King was born on November 1, 1929 in St. Louis, MO to Nicolas and Wilhelmena Pausch, and passed away on July 26, 2013 in Dallas, TX at the age of 83. Marie graduated from Washington University in 1952, married in 1953, and moved to Dallas in 1954. She taught classroom music in St. Louis, Dallas and Richardson Independent School Districts plus private piano lessons. She was devoted to her three children and husband, Don King. A 50 year resident of Lake Highlands, she served as President of the Lake Highlands Book Review Club, President of Lake Highlands Elementary School PTA and an active member of Central and King of Glory Lutheran Churches. In 2009 she was honored as a 50 year life member of the Dallas Music Teachers Association and the National/State Associations. Marie was preceded in death by husband Don, sister, Lorraine Huighe and sister in law Marcella Baldwin and spouses. She is survived by son, Richard King, twin daughters, Tracy Davis and Stacy Lehman and their spouses along with 5 grandchildren and one great grandchild. A Funeral Service will be at 2:00 pm Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home, 7405 W. Northwest Hwy, Dallas, TX 75225. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday, July 29, 2013 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Sparkman/Hillcrest.
