Illness Fatal to H. Tibbits

Funeral rites were Friday afternoon at the Champion Funeral Home for Harold Tibbits, 75, who died Dec. 24 at Mitchell County Memorial Hospital, where he had been confined since Dec 20. The Rev. George Hope, pastor of the Baptist church here was in charge of the rites and burial was in the Osage cemetery.

Harold Jay Tibbits was born Jan. 30, 1900, the son of John and Ellen Clark Tibbits. He grew to manhood in this community, farming with his parents near McIntire until 1943, then returned to Osage where he was engaged as a trucker and mason until his retirement.

Carmon Kindschuh Brant and Harold Tibbits were married Oct. 4, 1950.

Survivors include his wife, Carmon; one daughter, Marcia Brandt of Osage; a step-son, Ralph Brandt of Winona, Minn.; and three grandchildren; one brother, Leslie and a sister Myrtie Tibbits of Osage.

He was preceded in death by his parents: two brothers, Jess and Harvey; three sisters, Lulu, Bessie Sheldon and Ella Angell.
