OBITUARY-

John E. Tibbits Died at Home Near Meyer

John Edward Tibbits, 86, died at his home near Meyer, Wednesday from infirmities of old age. He had been in failing health for a long time.

Mr. Tibbits was born in Kansas April 7, 1856, and came to Mitchell county when a young man. He married Ella Clark, of Osage, who preceded him in death in 1939.

The family occupied various farms in the county, living for a number of years on the farm west of Osage, on Highway No. 9, now operated by Ralph Kindschuh. They spent several years on a farm north of Riceville. For the past several years they have been living on a farm near Meyer, where Mr. Tibbits died.

Surviving are the following children: Mrs. Ella Angell, of Osage; Mrs. Ralph Sheldon, Orchard; Myrtie and Harold, at home; Harvey, of McIntire; and Leslie, of Sioux City. One daughter, Lulu, died in infancy.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock, at the Champion funeral home with burial in the Osage cemetery.
