Ruth A. Ballard, 79, Mt. Vernon, formerly of Wayne City, died Dec 18, 2005 at 7:45 p.m. in Mt. Vernon. She was retired from Airtex Corporation. SERVICES THURSDAY Services will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at Richardson Funeral Home in Wayne City with Rev. Richard McCormick and Rev. Bryan Palmer officiating. Visitation is after 6 p.m. Wednesday at Richardson Funeral Home in Wayne City. Burial will be in the Olive Branch Cemetery. Ruth was born Aug 16, 1926 in St. Louis, Mo.to Noel and Goldia BURNER Hood. She married Russell Ballard Sr. who preceded her in death in 1995. She was a member of Mt. Vernon VFW and Mt. Vernon American Legion. SURVIVORS include sons, Joe Jr. (Lea) Ballard, Ernie Ballard of Mt. Vernon and Jerry Diane Ballard, Bluford; five grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sisters, Lola Borader, Fulton, KY., and Wanda Harris, Weedlawn. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother and one sister.
