Kenneth Wayne (Kenny) Humphries Jr., 38, of Kingston Springs, Tenn., died Thursday, Feb. 17, 2011, at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville, Tenn.

He was born in Harrisonburg on Oct. 8, 1972, and was a son of Kenneth and Carolyn (Harris) Humphries of Grottoes, who survive.

He was a 1991 graduate of Spotswood High School.

Before moving to Tennessee, he attended Grottoes United Methodist Church and worked for Quicks in Staunton. He was presently employed by Robert's Coach Leasing in Springfield, Tenn.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his maternal grandmother, Hilda Harris of McGaheysville; fiance, Kelly N. Mathison from Kentucky; and two children, Steven and Brianna Humphries of Tennessee.

A funeral service was conducted Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2011, at Johnson Funeral Service in Grottoes with the Rev. W. L. (Sonny) Henkel and the Rev. Wayne Wright officiating.

Burial followed at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens in Harrisonburg.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice.
