Husband of Eleanor (Wilson) Sears. (she is buried in Woodward-Gwinn Cem, Lapel, Madison Co, IN)

Son of James & Elizabeth (Olmstead) Sears. (James died in Quebec and Elizabeth died in Henry Co IN).

James 1799-1847 was son of James 1747- abt 1814 Quebec & Elizabeth (Olmsted) 1846 died Unknown in Henry CO IN and James 1747- abt 1814 was son of James 1704-1791 & Desire (Tobey) 1707-1781.

James born 1704 would have been 75 at the time James 1799 was born. Desire would have been 72. James & Desire were 43 & 40 when son James was born in 1747 and James & Elizabeth (Olmsted) were 32 & 33 when James 1799 was born.

So I hardly doubt James & Desire were the parents of James born 1779. I realize there is a book showing all this but I believe they somehow skipped the generation of James 1747 as son of James & Desire and went to their grandson by mistake. They may not have known abt James b.1747 as son of James 1704 & Desire (Tobey).

It is possible that he may be son of James & Abigail (Sherwood) Sears. We are working on this and will fix if need be.
