Lillian Reeves, 88, of Kansas City, Missouri, died, Wednesday, July 17, 2013, at Carmel Hills Care Center of Independence, Missouri. Lillian was born on February 22, 1925, to Mathis and Beatrice Phoenix in Rosebud, Texas. Her parents, four sisters, and one son preceded her in death. Lillian accepted Christ as her personal Savior at an early age. She moved to Kansas City in 1945, where she later united with Paseo Baptist Church, where she remained a dedicated, faithful, and active member until her health failed. Through the years, she was a Teacher in the Sunday Church School, a member of the Women's Missionary Union, attended Wednesday Prayer and Bible Study, and a Member and Officer of the Usher Board. Lillian was an employee of Children's Mercy Hospital of Kansas City for forty years, where she was loved and cherished. She not only saw to the physical needs of the children, she dearly loved holding and rocking the babies in the infant unit of the hospital. Lillian Reeves leaves to cherish her memories, a daughter, Freddie Louise Byrd; one son, Gregg Reeves (Carmen) both of Kansas City, Missouri; nine grandchildren; great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral Services for Lillian Reeves will be held on Saturday, July 27, 11:00 a.m. at Paseo Baptist Church, 2501 Paseo Blvd. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at The Church.
