Mae Fore Sherbert, age 87, died Thursday, July 21, 2005, in Oakmont Nursing Home, Greenville, SC.

A native of Union County, SC, born January 4, 1918, daughter of James Edward Fore (1895–1976) and Minnie Lee Fore (1899–1938); loving wife of the late Thomas D. Sherbert, Sr.

Owned and operated the Welcome Grill Restaurant in Union with her husband for 32 years; a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church, and a devoted citizen of her community.

Survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas D. Sherbert, Jr. and Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Carlisle Sherbert; grandchildren, Mr. and Mrs. Timothy Sherbert, Sr., Mr. and Mrs. Fox Crater, Mr. and Mrs. Gator Hudson, and Mr. and Mrs. Scott Sherbert; and her great-grandchildren.

Graveside services conducted at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, July 24, 2005, by Rev. Jack Eason at Union Memorial Gardens.

Friends and family were received at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas D. Sherbert, Jr., following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials could be sent to Tabernacle Baptist Church, 915 S. Pinckney Street, Union, SC 29379; or to Meals on Wheels, c/o Monte Lancaster, Arthur State Bank, Union, SC 29379.
