Jeremiah "Jerry" G. Atkins was born to William "Bill" Aho & Darla Atkins on September 22, 1994. He entered into rest at the young age of 18, on July 15, 2013, just as he was beginning his adult life. Both parents preceded Jerry in death and he was lovingly raised by his Grandmother, Carmen Aho-Brown of Zillah, WA. Jerry overcame many of life's hard lessons at a very young age. With the love and support of his extended family and older brother, Joshua Aho, he succeeded where many others would have failed. His love of laughter, music, reading, sports and people will be remembered by all. Especially so when we think of his smile, which lit up every room he entered.
His sports activities were followed closely by all that knew him. He was a defensive lineman for the Zillah Leopards Football Team, a varsity Wrestler and a member of the Cross Country & Track Teams. He went to the State Wrestling Tournament twice in his career, placing 6th in State in 2013. He always admired his older brother Josh, who had placed 1st at State in 2012 & always wanted to follow in his footsteps. In school, his classmates voted Jerry the "Most Likely to Make You Laugh" and the "Most Likely to Cheer You Up". Jerry loved his fellow teammates and Coaches as they were more than just a team, he considered them family. He attended many school and after-school events with his friends, including a Hawaiian trip with his team in December 2012, which he very much enjoyed.
We would like to extend a special thank you to the Zillah Wrestling Coaches who helped & guided Jerry in so many ways. To the Zillah High School Teachers who influenced him so, that he had expressed a desire to become a Teacher & Coach. To the Zillah Class of 2013, his friends, and teammates, thank you for your generous gift, words cannot express how touched we are. We little knew that morning, that God was going to call your name,

Burial Ceremonies will begin at the Wapato Longhouse Wednesday afternoon, July 17 with Sunrise Burial taking place at the Union Gap Cemetery on Thursday, July 18, 2013. A Memorial Service is planned on Saturday, July 20, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the Zillah Church of the Nazarene, Zillah, WA . A Potluck Reception will take place immediately following. Valley Hills Funeral Home in Zillah is in care of the arrangements.
