In the 1900 census Rudolph was still at home with his mother in her house. His niece Katherine Lee (Leo's daughter) remembers as a child that her family delivered food across the street to "Uncle Rudolf".
Fred Bracht Jr gave a note to Anna Jobes in 1998 indicating that long ago, he and his "Grandma" Bracht took a pie to Rudy who was then living near what is a ball park today; he was in need of food but did not like the lemon pie that "Grandma" made and he refused it = so she sent home and made him an apple pie which he accepted.
