Mrs. Frederick died Tuesday, July 23, 2013. Born in Fort Mill, S.C., she was the daughter of the late Harley "Blue" Winford Hambright and Wilma James "Jimmie" White. Mrs. Frederick graduated from Fort Mill High School and attended the University of South Carolina. She enjoyed reading, antiques, pottery and art. Mrs. Frederick retired as the Executive Secretary for Grob Corporation in Charlotte.
Surviving are her daughter, Sherry (Jeff) Parrish of Columbia; sons, Joseph Frederick Jr. of Hickory, N.C., Richard W. Frederick of Raleigh, N.C.; three grandchildren, Sara Parrish and Jeffrey Parrish, both of Charleston, Chase P. (Ben) Irons of Columbia; the father of her children, Joseph W. (Susan) Frederick of Blythewood and many loving and devoted friends.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Patrice J. Hambright.
The family wishes to thank all the staff of White Oak Manor, especially Jenny Rosson, and Palmetto Hospice for their love and care.
As a breast cancer survivor, the family request that memorials be made in her memory to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, 5005 LBJ Freeway, ATTN: Gift Management Service, Suite 250, Dallas TX 75244-6125 or to a charity of one's choice.
