John Dee Winchester was born on December 14, 1932 in Centerview, Texas to Dee Jerry & Hattie Mae (Kuhn) Winchester. He was raised in the Centerview area and lived most of his adult life in Milford. Mr. Winchester was a welder and a rancher. He loved to fish and hunt. If he wasn't fishing or hunting, he was talking about fishing and hunting. After his wife passed away, he moved back to his childhood homeplace in the Centerview Community. Mr. Winchester passed away on July 23, 2013 in Centerville, Texas following a brief illness. He was preceded in death by both of his parents; wife, "Little Mamma;" son, Billy Charles Winchester; daughter, Alma M. Winchester and brothers, Norman, Merle and Charlie Winchester.
Surviving family includes sons & daughters-in-law, Jackie Dee & Linda Winchester of Milford and Ken & Lynn Whitsett of Milford; daughters & sons-in-law, Debra K. & Jerry Moon of the Centerview Community, Jeana Deann Winchester of Montana, Judy & Willie Dryer of Centerville, Laurie & Mike Duke of Milford and Lisa & Carlos Phoenix of Milford; daughter-in-law, Frieda Winchester of Corsicana; sister, Alma Lee of Leroy; twenty-six grandchildren, Hattie, Billy Jack, Thomas Ed, Jerry Dee, Billy Charles, Frieda, John, Rachel, Matthew, Ashley, Yolanda, Justin, James, Stormy, Dakota, Corbin, Holden, Chris, Kim, Kasey, Bryan, Justin, John, Patrick, Wendy and Lee; sixteen great grandchildren, Lexie, Justin, Kira, Dakota, Colt, Elizabeth, McKenzie, Emma, Georgia, Railey, Madison, Braden, Cory, Kasen, Porter, Ethan and one on-the-way, Levi Moon. Mr. Winchester is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jerry D. Moon, Jackie Dee Winchester, James Winchester, John Winchester, Billy Charles Winchester and David Hodge. Honorary pallbearers will be Grady Winchester, Charlie Winchester, Charles Winchester, Dusty Winchester and special friend, Jerry Wayne Morgan.
