Susan Evelyn "Evva" was the ninth and youngest child born of Joseph Ellis Boyd and Elizabeth Smyth Boyd. She received her education at Mt. Vernon and attended Cornell College, Mount Vernon. In 1878 she came to Kansas with her sister, Olive Boyd Potter. She made her home with this sister and a brother, Ellis Boyd, until her marriage. She married Ira M. Rundell, Oct. 19, 1880, by Rev. J. B. C. Cook in the home of her sister Olive Potter, Stafford, Kansas.
To this union thirteen children were born.
