He was born Feb. 22, 1930, in Supply, Ark., son of Mrs. Thena Banks and the late Elmer L. Banks. He lived in Cincinnati since 1969 where he was employed in the trucking business.
He was a member of the Charleston Church of Christ, the Masonic Lodge 497 AF and AM, and the IOOF Lodge, both in Charleston.
On Jan. 14, 1950, he married Miss Sue Hill.
Surviving is his wife; sons, Dennis E., Lloyd D. and Terry L. Banks; brother, Everett Banks; sisters, Mrs. Richard Montgomery, Mrs. Donald Williams and five grandchildren. One son, Alvin L. Banks Jr. preceded him in death June 20, 1975.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday at McMikle Funeral Home here. Burial will be in the IOOF Cemetery.
