John Severance, or Severans, was born on November 24, 1647 in Salisbury, Essex, Massachusetts. His parents were John and Abigail Kimball Severns. In Salisbury, on August 15, 1672, he married Mary (possible family name Kimball), probably in Suffield, Hartford, Connecticut. He was an innkeeper in Salisbury. John and Mary had at least four children in Salisbury. Around 1680, they moved to Suffield, Connecticut, where they had two more children. In 1689, they moved to Deerfield, Franklin, Massachusetts. In 1703 they moved to Bedford, Westchester, New York, where John apparently died, date unknown.
