Zatha Myklebust

Alexandria, Minn. – Memorial services for Zatha Madden Myklebust, 102, will held at 2 p.m. Saturday, August 1, at the United Methodist Church in Armstrong, with the Rev. Dan Miller officiating. Interment will be in Armstrong Grove Cemetery. Anderson Funeral Home of Alexandria is in charge of arrangements.

She died July 24, 1998, at the Kute Nelson Home in Alexanderia.

She was born March 11, 1896 at Whittemore, a daughter of Joseph and Bertha (Buhrow) Madden. She completed training at Teachers College in Cedar Falls. She taught school in a one room school house which is now part of a museum in Estherville. She married Sam Myklebust Jan. 5, 1920. She was a professional cook. She was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. John (Sybil) McCabe, Alexanderia, Minn.; a son, Don of Aurora, Minn.; ten grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; a sister, Avis Jensen.

She was preceded in death by her parents; nine brothers and sisters; husband in 1954 and granddaughter, (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, July 28, 1998)
