James W. Pelkey, 61, of 18 Church St., Oswego, was pronounced dead on arrival Thursday, Feb. 3 at Upstate Medical Center after becoming ill at work. Born in Oswego, Mr. Pelkey had lived in Pulaski about 10 years before moving back to Oswego two years ago. He was employed as a glazier on various construction projects for 38 years, and since 1970 had been employed by Schoeller Paper Co. in Pulaski. He was a member of Knights of Columbus Council 5606, Pulaski. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. Surviving are his wife, the former Catherine Wells; a son, James W. III of Pulaski; a daughter, Mrs. Theresa Reitz of Pulaski; five brothers; George, Timothy, Harold and Donald, all of Oswego, and Richard of Clay; and five grandchildren. Services were held at the Dowdle Funeral Home and in St. Peter's Church. Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery.
