John J. "Tim" Pelkey, 84 of Oswego passed away Wednesday evening. He was born in Oswego and was the son of the late James W. and Luella Steele Pelkey. He was the husband of the late Patricia Duguay Pelkey. Mr. Pelkey had been employed on many local construction projects and was a member of the International Brotherhood of Carpenters Local 747 for many years. He served in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict and also served in the SeaBees. Mr. Pelkey is survived by granddaughters Rebecca (Thomas) Smith of Oswego and Sarah (Brian Sobus) Pelkey of Fulton, great grandchildren Jordan and Lily Jean, sister in-law Shelia Furletti, son Patrick (Debbie) Pelkey of Oswego, granddaughter Susan and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife Patricia he predeceased by two sons Timothy (Helen Gordon) Pelkey and Matthew Pelkey and five brothers Funeral services will be held 10:00AM Tuesday from the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home and at 10:30AM in St. Paul's Church. Calling hours Monday 5-8PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Paul's Cemetery. Contributions may be made to a charity of once choice.
