A deed signed by Hannah Simpson, widow of John Simpson, along with his heirs and representatives was brought to Halifax Court, Virginia on 28 July 1800, and recorded.
The deed was dated January 31, 1800, and appears in the Halifax County, Virginia Deed Book 18, page 395.
The deed was for a tract of land containing 80 acres in Halifax County on the waters of Runaway Creek, bounded by the lines of Joshua Compton, Cajah Wyatt, Benjamin Soving, Joel Tucker and a tract of land sold by the heirs of John Simpson deceased, to Joel Tucker to have and to hold the said tract on parcel of land and premises with all its appurteneces unto the said John Stone, Jr.. his heirs and assigns forever. The price was 40 pounds of current Virginia money.
The deed was signed by Hannah and her children and their spouses.
We know that Hannah was alive on January 31, 1800 (date of deed).....and alive July 28, 1800,
date the deed was brought to court and recorded.
