Pallbearers will be Miss Buckner's nephews. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Welcome Sunday School Class of her church.Visitation will be from 6 until 8 this evening in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Belmont Baptist Church, 901 Mason Road, Columbia, SC 29203.
Miss Buckner died Sunday, September 23, 2001. Born in Sumter County, she was a daughter of the late John Henry and Sarah Agnes "Sadie" Haley Buckner. Miss Buckner was a ward clerk at Craft's Farrow State Hospital and a member of Belmont Baptist Church.
Surviving is her sister, Thelma Agnes Buckner of Columbia; nephews, Ralph W.( Mary Bramlett) Buckner, Charles Wendal "Wendy" (Karla )Buckner, Clint McMann (Marlina Hunt )Buckner, James Alton Buckner and Leonard Gilpsie Buckner Sr, all of Columbia and John Lester ( Ann Watts )Buckner Jr of Lexington, Kentucky.; niece, Mary Ann "Susie" Buckner of Columbia; sister-in-law, Mary Angelica "Ann"Kirby Buckner. Miss Buckner was predeceased her in death by her sister Blanch Buckner and her brothers, John Lester Buckner Sr, Charles Gilpsie Buckner and Walter Henry Buckner.It is unkown what happen to her other brothers James Clifton and Lee L Buckner.Miss Buckner was never married or had any children.
