Dr. Joseph Anderson Daniel, aged 79 years, died at 10:30 last night at his home, 1103 Melwood Avenue, after an illness extending over several months time.
The funeral was conducted this afternoon at 3:30 o'clock from the residence. Rev. J. W. Staton officiating. Burial being made in Greenleaf Cemetery Brownwood, Texas.
Dr. Daniel besides a wife, leaves five children, Robert O., W. O., and Mrs. Olina Smith, all
of Nixon , Texas, and Mrs. Green Roberts of Robert Lee, Texas, and Mrs. Lillie Davis of Luling, Texas.
The deceased was an ex-Confederate soldier. After the war he practiced medicine and law for a number of years, a part of which time he spent in Brown and Comanche counties. He came to Texas in 1866, settling first in North Texas, later moving to this section of the state
where he remained 16 years prior to his death.
