Nina M. Abston, 88, passed away July 19, 2013 at Baptist Health East. She was born January 17, 1925 in Dubre, Kentucky to George Payton and Madie Gertrude (Anderson) Abston.

Nina was employed by Brown & Williamson Tobacco Company for 39 years before retiring in 1982. She was a member of Southend Church of Christ, although she attended Cyclone Church of Christ a number of years after moving to Summer Shade, Kentucky in 1982. She lived with her mother until Madie died in 1999. She was preceded in death by her parents as well as her siblings William Abston, Ruby Moore and Ruth Cottongim.

She is survived by her dear friend Betty Wooldridge, nephew James E. Ferguson, niece Janet Wilson, and Betsy Moore and Johnny Dale Parks and other nieces and nephews, cousins, and many devoted friends.

Funeral Service:
Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at 12:00 Noon at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Burkesville, KY with burial in Marrowbone Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 3:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home in Burkesville.

Visitation in Louisville, KY will begin on Monday, July 22, 2013 at 10 A.M. at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway with a service to follow at 6 P.M. with Rev. Robert Miller officiating.
