Gladys V. Miller, age 91, of Menomonie, ascended unto the Lord Jesus Christ Monday, Aug. 16, 2004. She died peacefully at the Dunn County Health Care Center in Menomonie.

The former Gladys Viola Sneen was born Sept. 21, 1912, in the town of Spring Brook, Dunn County, to Johan and Betsy (Berg) Sneen. She was baptized and confirmed at Spring Brook Lutheran Church and attended Fosbrook School, Elk Mound.

On May 20, 1931, Gladys married Harold Miller and they farmed together in the town of Red Cedar until his death in 1963. Gladys was an active member of Peace Lutheran Church and enjoyed quilting and Bible study. She was also a member of Bountivale Homemakers and participated in 4-H activities.

Gladys was loving, caring, hard working, and gave her life fully to her family.

Gladys is survived by two daughters, LaVonne (Rev. Carl) Knitt of Oshkosh and Judith (Roger) Cummings of Menomonie; grandchildren, Jill (James) Geracle, Robert (Sandra) Knitt, Tony (Nicole) Knitt, Amy (John) Stalter, Tahnee (Mark) Sand, and Chad (Meghan) Cummings; great-grandchildren, Joshua, Peter, Katie, Daniel, Olivia, Rachel, Rebekah, Elena, Cole, Drew, Gunner, Erica, Brock and Mitchel; one brother, Dr. Donald (Jean) Sneen; a brother-in-law, Francis (Faith) Miller; four sisters-in-law, Audrey (Gene) Schneider, Sylvia Sneen, Beatrice Miller and Bobbie Miller; and by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; one son, Larry; two brothers, Adrian and Philip Sneen; two sisters, Florence Sneen and Evelyn Miller; and by many sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.

Funeral services are 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 20, 2004, at Peace Lutheran Church in Menomonie with the Rev. Dale Freberg officiating. Burial will be in church cemetery.

Family and friends may call at the Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday with a prayer service following. There will also be visitation at the church one hour prior to the service on Friday.
